Meet the Team

Tonia Christian is the founder of Elite Health and Wellness and a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She founded the clinic with a clear purpose: to provide meaningful, high-quality care while building a practice that makes a lasting, positive impact in the community.

With a diverse clinical background spanning primary care, urgent care, college health, hospice care, hormone replacement, obesity treatment, mental health medication management, and wellness services, Tonia brings a well-rounded and thoughtful approach to patient care. She has also completed advanced training and certifications in multiple aesthetic procedures, allowing her to offer comprehensive, personalized services that support both health and confidence.

Tonia earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2009 and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In 2020, she completed her post-master’s certificate at the University of Southern Indiana and earned her Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

She is passionate about combining evidence-based practice with patient-centered care, creating strong partnerships with her patients and helping them feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their health journey. Known for her compassion, accessibility, and commitment to removing barriers to care, Tonia works to make every patient experience personal, respectful, and empowering.

Outside the clinic, Tonia enjoys spending time with her son, Hunter, and with the close friends she considers family. She loves comedy shows, hiking, traveling, and making memories on long weekend getaways and family vacations with her sister and nieces. True to her small-town Grundy County roots, Tonia never meets a stranger and is always ready to strike up a conversation.

Destiny has been a valued part of Elite Health and Wellness since day one, first serving as the friendly face at the front desk and welcoming patients with warmth and kindness. She recently completed her Medical Assistant program as Valedictorian and earned multiple certifications, including CCMA (Clinical Certified Medical Assistant), CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician), CBAT (Certified Breath Alcohol Technician), and CPCT (Certified Professional Collector Technician).

Her dedication to learning and growing in the medical field reflects her commitment to providing excellent care and exceptional service to every patient she meets.

Outside of the clinic, Destiny enjoys spending time with her nephew and niece, Owen and Kenslee, playing with her golden retrievers, Hank and River, reading, and traveling.
